Question:
I’ve had the Topdon topscan lite for a long time and love it but need something that’s capable of a little more. I was curious if the 22 special functions are the same thing as if I would have bought the TopScan Pro. Will that make me not buy another tool? Also I want to see if TDarts can program key remotes or how that works. I saw that pop up on the app.
To clear things up: if you purchase the 22 Special Functions package on the Lite, your Lite will be upgraded to 30 special functions total, so you’ll definitely get more capability than before.
However, the IMMO functions included with TopScan Pro are not part of the Lite upgrade, so there are still some gaps depending on what kind of work you do.
As for T-Darts, it’s more of a supporting tool, not a standalone key programmer. It’s mainly used for frequency detection, IMMO testing, and transponder identification. To actually program key remotes, T-Darts needs to be used together with a compatible anti-theft device, such as TopScan Pro.
