Here comes the real user review of the Topdon Artidiag900 Lite diagnostic scanner on a 2007 GMC Yukon XL Denali.
Initial Setup
I got this TopDon AD900 Lite scanner today. After creating an account, I was able to update it to the latest software, which took about 30 minutes.
First System Scan
Once everything was set up, the first thing I did was run a full system scan.
-
23 systems were scanned.
-
9 systems had DTCs, for a total of 21 DTCs.
-
Most were history codes, which I assume occurred when I bought the vehicle and the battery was nearly dead, causing communication loss with the BCM.
-
3 hard faults were found: lumbar support, liftgate module, and one other minor fault (I don’t remember which).
Comparison with Solus Pro
My old Solus Pro only showed “Lost communication with Module” when looking at the BCM—with no way to tell which module. I had assumed it was the tailgate or suspension. The TopDon, however, specifically identified that my liftgate module has a short to ground (though I’ll need to bench-test it to confirm).

Performance & Speed
The scanner feels fast enough for me when switching between screens.
Vehicle Compatibility
It can test and operate all systems on my 2007 Yukon XL Denali. I would assume it will do the same for most vehicles, except perhaps the newest models.
Advanced Diagnostic Capabilities
-
Diagnoses and tests active suspension.
-
Can activate all shocks individually for testing.
-
Graphs live data from all four shocks together or individually.
-
It is there as well as ALC Trim Reset.
Reporting
You can save a health report of all systems, or an individual system report, to a file for later reference.
Supported Reset Functions
The scanner supports eight commonly used reset functions:
-
Oil reset
-
Throttle adaptation
-
EPB reset
-
Steering angle reset
-
DPF regeneration
-
ABS bleeding
-
BMS reset
-
Airbag reset
Additional Features I Love
-
Key fob programming
-
Tire type/pressure selection
-
TPMS learn (all under the same tab)
Overall Impressions
My first impressions are very positive—I’m impressed and extremely pleased with this scanner.
The Topdon AD900 Lite reads all modules and has commands, tests, and live data for every module I’ve tried or needed. The TopDon works with the vast majority of brands.
I really like this new scanner. It does so much more than the old Snap-on I was using, and it has done everything I’ve needed it to do. I’m confident it will be a great benefit when working on my own vehicles or other people’s cars.
