Does Topdon Rink J2534/ Rlink Lite device work with Ford/Mazda IDS software? It works with FDRS and isn’t reading ids.
The RLink device only supports use with FJDS and FDRS software. Due to IDS restricting original factory VCI access, it cannot be used with IDS.
To use the Rlink it is a passthru J2534 only FJDS is the J2534 compliant version of IDS.
However, some users have reported that this issue can be resolved using a small utility tool. When using it, you need to select VCM 2 as the device type.
Example:
An Rlink user found a small tool that enables the J2534 device to also connect to the IDS software for diagnosis. This is truly a blessing for small repair shops like ours. We don’t have to spend a large amount of money on those expensive devices, and we can still use the original factory-compatible settings. After purchasing the RLink J2534 device, I carried out various diagnostic tests and found that all its functions are normal. Paired with the small tool, it can be perfectly adapted to the IDS software.

Download the utility tool for IDS. You may try it to see if it works normally for you. We are not responsible if any problems arise.
