Question:
Topdon Ultradiag am i no longer able to program keys? I am just a home user and i don’t have a NASTF account. I only bought this to work on my cars I am sad to loose half the reason I bought the UltraDiag to work on my cars.

Here is the clue.
Correct. NASTF is required for key programming in North America. This is one of the conditions for aftermarket tools having secure gateway access. That is a condition imposed by the VEHICLE MANUFACTURER, not the scan tool manufacturer. It’s the same on Autel, Launch, and others.
Due to the current requirements in North America, NASTF account login and identity verification are required before using certain immobilizer/anti-theft functions, including applicable key programming functions.
This is a mandatory requirement established by NASTF in the U.S. for security-related vehicle functions, rather than a restriction added by TOPDON to limit the capabilities of your UltraDiag.
Without completing the required NASTF verification, these anti-theft functions cannot be used normally on the device in North America. We understand this is especially frustrating for home users who originally purchased the tool to work on their own vehicles, and we’re sorry for the inconvenience this change causes.
Thats the whole point of NASTF. to limit access to only qualified individuals so that cars dont get stolen as easily. If you dont want to pay for NASTF, they have a pay per use program where someone who is qualified can do the programming for you over the internet.
